When you purchase a bike, and I know this because we have purchased 3 in less time then it takes most women to accumulate 10 pairs of black shoes, but I prevaricate. So, the new bike might need extras to make it more comfy for the rider on the back. Me. On the way to Tahoe, during a thought storm, it occurred to me that this was the maiden voyage for the bike's new parts and me. Hmmmm. And then I remembered that the maiden voyage in my seat belonged to Big Dan. I started laughing as I looked down and tried to imagine how he fit into the space between George and the back. I mean I am not a small woman and I feel squished at times! When I mentioned it to George and he grimaced and said we should get a new bike. I started thinking, like Clara?, could we just wash my seat? Really! I just hope Big Dan felt just right in my chair.

We were driving through Tahoe today looking for a place to eat when the most remarkable thing happened. I am directionally challenged. I still cannot find my way around Sacramento. Today I discovered the secret to finding a location-there must be a food memory attached. A few years ago Frances, Marsha, and I went to Tahoe for some self -care. We ate lunch at Sprouts a wonderful, hippy, healthy sort of joint. Total cash cow. Without the cow. So George and I are riding down some random street and all 14 of my senses light up and my arcane brain shouts "stop I know this place." We quickly turned around queued up and were soon munching on amazing food.

We are now in Carson City. Who would live here? It is not attractive and it is very windy. Tomorrow we will be resting our heads in Ely. This is the first year we have left our home fairly relaxed and I was not thinking about getting back. It is good to be on the road again.

Þú ert með svo mikið gaman!
ReplyDeleteWhat did George eat? And yes, Jenson, now you have discovered the 'real' reason why we are friends: Food. The memories it creates. Also your hilarious sense of humor that makes me laugh out loud even before my cup of coffee this morning. Also? The Carson City observation. Don't get your hopes up about Ely. But I will be tuning in to read about it anyway.
ReplyDeleteGeorge had a giant organic turkey sandwich. It was on thick cut wheat bread and had veggies and avocado on it. He inhaled it!
DeleteDid you buy a new bike yet? Keep me laughing. It is nourishment for my soul. Happy trails.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your theme song?
ReplyDeleteIf we had a theme song, which we don't, it could Willie Nelson's On The Road Again. I cannt translate your comments. I assume you are saying how funny I am and how you wish Ray had a bike so we could take trips together???
