It is the eve of our departure and George has already gone to bed while I struggle with relearning how to blog, download pictures, and try to recall how to be witty or at least spell correctly and write a whole sentence. George has given me a list of readers who are reportedly going to be following our trip and warned me that I better be funny. It's a good thing I write so late at night that I can't feel pressure or anything else. Truthfully, we are excited to get on our way and see what adventures await us this year. There is always something rather thrilling about the first day of the trip. Everyone around us is going to work and we are packed up and riding off for parts far far away.
Today is Frances' birthday! She is celebrating with her granddaughter Ella and grandpa Mike! What a wonderful present. Happy Birthday my good friend!
I was hoping to post a different picture for my first chapter, but out of deep sensitivity to my friend Dan, I restrained myself. Recently Dan's bike was stolen in Reno. Yes, there are thieves in Reno. Who knew? They took everything but his boots. Dan, John, and Mark were returning from a trip to Sturgis and George had ridden to Reno to welcome them back while I was welcoming a weekend to myself...when the bike was taken. That afternoon I received a call from George saying that Dan's wife, Patty, would be driving to our home, and he, George, would be riding Dan on his bike from Reno to our house. Now, just imagine two really large men on a bike. Really large. Then Sam, our son, calls and begs me to get the camera out and get pictures. Well, they all made it safely to Folsom and needless to say, there were a few pictures, but they are on lockdown. Of course, more then a few motorists were aiming their phones at the boys and clicking away. Keep your eyes on UTube. We spent the rest of the night hearing about how much fun they had riding together. It was like being in a room with stinky 9 year old boys. Phew! Except for John. He was nice.
Well, I have many miles to go before I sleep. Tomorrow we will lay our heads down in Carson City. It will be good to be on the road again.

DeleteI was thinking of you yesterday and your upcoming adventure. Sorry I forgot to call. Thanks for the card and birthday wishes. We hope you have a wonderful trip and look forward to all the "funny" tales of your adventures. Wish we were with you.

Well I finally figured out to get to this site! Thank god there was no instructions or I wouldn't have had such a joyous expression on my face when I found it. I hope you are both well and seeing beautiful countryside. Sue and I will continue to read the blog as it is always interesting to hear about beautiful new places.

Hii Rob and Sue,
ReplyDeleteI could never figure out how to get on my friend's blog when she was in Thialand. I gave up. Other people are also having a difficult time. We are having a lot of fun. We just had an amazing dinner and we waddled home to crash in front of the television. Let's get together soon. Jenson & George
